Program Overview
The girls basketball program works to engage and inspire girls in middle school through varsity to develop their talent and skills and compete at their highest level. Coaches and athletes look to rebuild the program and work with elementary aged students through camps and clinics to promote a love for the game. Players are expected to commit themselves to the team and carry themselves in a Christ-like way on the court and in the classroom.
Coaching Staff
Head Coach: Mike Carl
Coach Carl played basketball while working toward his undergraduate degree at The King’s College. He previously coached boys JV and varsity teams in New York and New Jersey for 16 years in total before coming to Florida. During the 2021-22 season, he won his 200th varsity game as head coach. Since he’s coached at LCS, Coach Carl has led the girls varsity team to a District Championship in 2016 and a showing in the Regional Final. Mike attends Lakes Church with his wife, Wendy, and has two daughters.
